The Smoking Chemnitzer:in

“C the Unseen” is the motto of Chemnitz, the European Capital of Culture 2025 — an exciting theme for cultural scholars interested in questions of visibility and perception. A fund from TU Chemnitz supported a project on representation, stereotypes, and tradition in Erzgebirge craftsmanship. The focus was on connections between science and craft, urban and rural life, the popular and the unseen. The result: the exhibition “The Smoking Chemnitzer:in”, where students transformed their research into traditional incense figures.
