Everyone is cordially invited to the exhibition opening. The day will be accompanied by a varied programme for all age groups. In addition to the opportunity to explore the exhibition spaces, visitors can look forward to exciting keynote speeches, the hands-on city lab, a reading with live drawing and other programme highlights.
The opening also marks the start of the European Arts and Crafts Days and the new application phase for the Saxon State Prize for Design.

In addition to free entry to the exhibition and a diverse program for all age groups, the cooperation partners and supporters of the ‘Werkschau – Made in Saxony’ will be presenting themselves at their information booths throughout the day.

A place for creativity and community – the workshop doors of vectorlab are open and invite visitors to take a behind-the-scenes look. Learn about the city lab and all the possibilities for DIY, digital manufacturing, and experimentation. Whether you are a beginner or a pro, there is something to discover for everyone!

Saxon Craftsmanship: Diverse & Unique
Anlässlich der Europäischen Tage des Kunsthandwerks sprechen Kunsthandwerker:innen über die Facetten ihres Schaffens. Von der Bewahrung traditioneller Techniken bis hin zu zukunftsweisenden Innovationen steht die Einzigartigkeit dieser Branche im Mittelpunkt. Musikalische Klänge auf in Chemnitz gefertigten Meisterinstrumenten untermalen das Programm.
On the occasion of the European Days of Craftsmanship, craftsmen and women will discuss the facets of their work. From preserving traditional techniques to future-oriented innovations, the uniqueness of this industry is the focus. Musical performances on master instruments made in Chemnitz will accompany the program.

Curator Tour & Quiz
The curators will give an exclusive tour of the exhibition, providing fascinating insights and sharing exciting background information.
